4 Weeks

Tuesdays, October 1-22 | 6-9 p.m.

In this 4-week studio class participants will learn how to create paper pulp from recycled clothing. Students are encouraged to bring an old article of clothing to the first class which will then be used to make a batch of community paper pulp. Then as a class participants will learn how to pull sheets of paper and some simple papermaking techniques. Then the handmade papers that are pulled will be used to make a hand-bound book. At the end of the workshop, students will walk away with the intro knowledge of papermaking as-well as a hardcover book of their own design, that can be use as a sketchbook, journal, memory keeper, or as a gift.
