Hot Glass Experience
Enter into the world of glass blowing by doing a Hot Glass Experience. This opportunity is presented on the First Friday and Second Sunday of most months, as well as at the major ArtsQuest festivals. Each month features a different item to make. With the guidance of one of our artists, you’ll work one-on-one to create your own glass artwork. Each session takes 20 minutes. Ages 6 and up are welcome. No experience necessary.

Concentrations
Our Glass Studio staff offers unique experiences on an ad hoc basis, doing about 8 per year. These are developed based on input and interests of current glass students. For example, we have recently run Concentration Classes for Large Scale Installation and for Optic Molds. Prices vary according to the level of involvement, the materials needed, and length of the class.
Check this web site often for the latest Concentration Class that may be offered.
Fusing & Slumping – Thursday night
In this class, students will learn the art of “warm” glass as they study the techniques involved in making unique works of fused and slumped glass art. Students will explore contemporary fusing methods such as designing and cutting, stacking, or layering thin sheets of glass and glass powders; and using different colors to create textures, patterns or images in glass. These designs are then fused (melted) together in a kiln to form a solid glass object which can be further shaped on a mold.
Every Thursday night

Fusing Workshop – 3rd Saturday
Designed to get students familiar with the techniques of “warm glass” art, this class will introduce students to the basics of glass fusing which is the art of melting glass objects together. Once objects are “fused”, they are then “slumped” which is softening glass into molds to form plates, bowls, platters and more. This workshop is a fun way for students to express their artistic abilities with glass. No experience necessary.
3rd Saturday of each month, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
